The Rescue Toboggan

Altona Volunteer Fire Department  purchased a rescue toboggan for use in rescue calls in hard to reach forest and field areas. The rescue toboggan, and Polaris ATV which pulls it, were featured in the North Countryman  newspaper because Altona is one of the first fire departments in the area to have one. The rescue toboggan can be used year-round because the adaptive tracks for the ATV, and the skis that mount to the toboggan, allow travel in the snow. The rescue toboggan and ATV will be brought to the scene in a trailer which attaches to the brush truck 106. This equipment can help us save lives by allowing us to transport victims of snowmobile accidents, ATV accidents, and other victims in remote locations with greater speed
